Can anyone recommend letterboxing series along a bike trail? Eastern
US preferable, but I'll take all comers!

Thanks.

Hop River Trail East & West in Bolton ~ Columbia, CT

Airline Trail South _ Colchester, CT

Actually the Airline trail runs right through the state and has many great
boxes along the way.

Windsor Locks Canal, CT

Bill & Craig do a lot of Hike it or Bike it boxes at the bottom of any of
the clues listed above you will see a link for their page.

I have heard of some boxes along or not far from the Appalachian Trail
throughout various states. There was some AT discussion a month or so
back; you could search in the archives to see if any specific boxes
were mentioned.

I also recall some boxes planted in Rails to Trails areas in Virginia.
There is one, Mr. Grant, in the Fredericksburg area. And there is at
least one other planted by NewBe1 in either Northern Virginia or the
DC area.

Hi, Ship to Neverland listed under Windham CT by
Leader of the Pack and my North Windham Station
letterbox listed under North Windham both have the
same starting point. It is on the air line rail road
bed. This part should be dry and would be fine for
bikes. I know the trail well. You could then go a few
niles down the road to "The Tree is Me and Railroad
Crossing in Hampton. 90% of the walk could be done on
a bike. The short remainder you could walk the bike.
It isn't very much you would have to walk. .....Chuck
and Molly.

I recently placed a letterbox in the PineBush in Albany, New York It is called Sand Box LetterBox. The trail is sandy, off road. You can easily bike it in the Springtime, but it is a little more difficult when the sand is dryer and, well ... sandier!

The Bike it or Hike it web page lists bike trails in CT-MA-RI-NJ-VA-
MD-DC that all contain letterboxes along the trails. Visit
(www.geocities.com/haalck@snet.net). We are taking another trip down
to DC in April and plan to add more along the way.
